The pattern, which can be used as a fabric or wallpaper, is called Flowering Quince from Clarence House. It was created by fabric designer Kasumi Yoshida, who was inspired by an antique kimono. The only issue as a wallpaper for my blog the pattern was not fluid, so I decided on a fun shade of quince green white for a fresh start...wish life was filled with such simple and fun choices. Flowering Quince was my inspiration to change Fresh Quince's design for 2011, it reflects my current passion for Chinoiserie and pink obsession...I almost called this blog pink lady because of that and for the fact that I blush quite easily, but when I searched pink lady on the net I didn't want to be associated with what I saw. So, instead Fresh Quince was born. See Flowering Quince in the lovely images below...
All of the images above were sourced via Chinoiserie Chic Blog, a gorgeously done blog with a plethora of lovely images and ideas.
Hope you all like the change!!!!
I love it! I am with you on the pink...Take care, Caroline
ReplyDeleteGreat wallpaper! I am currently in love with all things chinoiserie as well. Hollywood Regency is my favorite search term on ebay! Right now your background on the blog is white (at least what I'm looking at) and I like it, very clean!
ReplyDeleteThanks Caroline!
ReplyDeleteWow, Danielle, I LOVE IT!! But you know, me, i heart chinoiserie :)
ReplyDeleteWanted to thank you for popping over to SC, I can totally see why, we have a very similar style aesthetic!!
Hope you've had a great start to the new year!!
xx
Evie...you must have caught me mid change. I was having such a hard time with background colors because blogger color selections never look how I expect them to, so I woke up this morning and felt the green was not the shade I wanted and therefore changed to a fresh white and then changed my post to reflect that. Also, check out Hollywood Regency on CL and Etsy, every once in awhile some pretty cool stuff comes up.
ReplyDeleteDagny...thanks so much and hope you had a wonderful holiday and happy new year as well! xx Danielle
ReplyDeleteHey Danielle, I have that exact print in a sheet/tapestry that I've been using as a bedspread, and although I love the print, I've had to retire it since there was too much going on with the rest of the room. Let me know if you'd like to have it and it's yours! :)
