Craigslist This Space

In lieu of Fridays Finest Finds, I thought I'd change things up a bit and start a new weekly post called Craigslist This Space. I'll share an inspirational image and recreate the scene by finding similar pieces on Craigslist in the DC metro area and supplement non-secondhand items when necessary. So here we go...

Below is a very eclectic and energetic space designed by Windsor Smith for her L.A. home...

Now onto Craigslisting This Space...

Reupholster sofa in: John Robshaw Textiles (contact to purchase)

Turmeric Light Indigo Blockprinted Linens Fabric
Turmeric Light Indigo

Reupholster in: Sunny Chevron by Pond Ripple (available soon on SpoonFlower)...

Beacon Hill Luxury Velvet Venetian Pink

Robert Allen Radiant Velvet Mandarin

Paint coffee Table: Benjamin Moore Low VOC Natura Paint in Decorators White...

Spray paint lamps: Bright White by Krylon H2O

Chandelier: Vintage $15

To supplement items that I was unable to find on Craigslist, here are a few new selections...

W6080 Interlocking Rings Stool Stools & Ottomans

Color-Bound Seagrass Rug - Natural

Wall Paint: Ben Moore, Low VOC Natura line in Pink Begonia...

Not every item may be exact, but the idea is simple...it is so easy to design an entire space using second hand items. You can be green and glamorous!

  1. Fantastic idea! I think the craigslist finds reflect the room very well.

I'm attempting a chair reupholster project of my own this weekend. Hopefully I'll have a finished product to show next week!
