New CL Chairs

Craigslist can be dangerous for me, especially for my tiny cape cod home. But I just had to get these chairs, which I adore and purchased for a pretty good price for a set of 6. I still love my bentwood chairs, but sadly they are not holding up with kids...will have to share a CL experience about them soon.

Anyway, I spotted the other inspirational image on Pinterest and the chairs are identical to my chairs. I just need to have my chairs reupholstered asap. I'm looking for a non-vinyl faux leather...does anyone have a source? Please share if so, because I've been searching forever. Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!

Sneak Peek

Ok, so it's a little more than a peek, but here are a few images of Margaret, my client/friend's living room which is almost complete. I sold her my Chiang Mai Dragon fabric pillows by Schumacher, I felt they looked better in her space than mine. She's purchased a few new items like the sofa, lamps and mirror, but the rest is from good ole' Craigslist and Matters of Style Marketplace. We reupholstered the vintage Queen Anne chairs she found and gave the brass/glass tables a good cleaning...it's all you need to make something look new and fresh again. The used rug, which came in pristine condition is from MOS Marketplace. It's all looking quite lovely together.

Her and her husband have been a delight to work with and we are still plugging away at their dining room, bedroom and basement. I can't wait to share when complete. Happy Spring everyone!

Featured In...

Months ago I was contacted by Jenny Sullivan, editor of Arlington Magazine, a local publication that I thoroughly enjoy. She asked if I was interested in participating in an article featuring designers and their favorite rooms titled Finders Keepers. My first thought was...ahhh, no way. With my toddler it seems that my home continually looks like a 3 B's bomb went off. Books, balls and blocks are strewn about all over. But then I thought...why not, it'll be fun styling my eclectic living room. Then I realized I would have to be in it...ahhhh, I have dress up and fix my hair!?!

Anyway, I agreed and was pleasantly surprised that I had a wonderful time the day of the shoot. Darren Higgins of Darren Higgins Photography came in the afternoon and he was a total delight to work with. I was giggling and chatting throughout, so I'm surprised he got one good image. Here is a snapshot of the spread...

My dog looks so badass...I love it. My living room did look particularly lovely that day, but Darren brought it to life. He's a true artist!

Thanks Jenny and Darren, it was a joy working with you both! And thanks to my mom for helping the day of the shoot and taking care of Max!

If you're local, look for the magazine in Barnes and Noble or Whole Foods. Have a great weekend!

Chain Link Dreams

Hope everyone had a fun Mardi Gras last night. Mine was thrilling...you'd all be so jealous. I fell asleep at 8:30 with my little boy. Exciting times!

Anyway, in other news, I've been dreaming of chain-links in interiors every since I saw the awesome entry in Lonny (see below). I love how the bold graphic can be playful in a color and elegant in gold. Thankfully Pinterest was kind enough to display more images with walls covered in chain-link...

(Note: all images sourced via Pinterest...please visit my page at Danielle Sigwalt to see the source and yes I know my blog is begging to be updated)

DC Craigslist Roundup

I've been searching for a specific console for a friend/client forever. It just doesn't seem to exist. It's depth needs to be narrow, but width wide. It also needs to match what we have going on in the dining room. This never ending search has kept me on Craigslist, where I've been finding some pretty awesome pieces, which I have to share obviously. Hope you all are doing well and find something you fancy below...
