A Petite Present

Recently I made a tiny little gift box for a great friend, whom I've been friends with for over 20 years...yikes! I had an old container which I just couldn't throw away (this my friends seems to be the story of my life...'hmmm, I can do something with that')...

I then glued scrap paper onto the box...

Then came the petite gift that I made in pottery last year, which I imprinted using a vintage Indian block print stamp...

I added twine to make a little ornament...

Placed it gently into the box...

And voila a petite gift for my friend...

Hope she likes it as much as I love her! Do you all keep crap stuff that you think could come in handy some day like I do?

Holli Zollinger on SpoonFlower

I'm sure many of you have heard of Spoonflower.  For those that haven't, it is a unique on-line fabric company that allows anyone to design, print and sell their own fabrics. My mother and I have been obsessed with it for years now. Over the past year I started to notice that many of my favorite fabrics were designed by Holli Zollinger. She is incredibly talented and even has her own website, which you can peruse here. She also has a blog, which features a few of her fabrics as clothing, pillows and bench seating. Here are just a few of my favorite designs by her:

What do you all think? Personally I think she is amazing. Go here to see even more of her gorgeous fabrics, one of which may appear on my babies nursery chair in organic cotton of course.

Time to Think of Tulips

Yes I know that Tulips bloom in the Spring, but now is the time to start planting and preparing for a beautiful tulip filled Spring. I recently found out about EcoTulips, a company that sells organic pesticide-free tulips, from Jasmere. Jasmere is an on-line resource that specializes in sharing deals from various eco-minded companies. Currently Jasmere is hosting a 50% off voucher to EcoTulips. I just took advantage of the deal and will be planting as soon as the tulips arrive. I'm hoping to create gorgeous gardens like these...

Okay, okay...I may not be able to create gardens that massive, but I can still use the color combinations above as inspiration for my own petite jardin. Or if you want to brighten up your home, a wool landscape rug by Liz Eeuwes might just be what you need...

Happy Planting!
