Fridays Finest Finds Back in DC

First I want to say a huge thanks to all who left me such sweet comments on my last post. Thanks so much for your kind words and support!

Well, I'm back to posting my favorite finds on Craigslist in the DC Metropolitan area and we'll see whether I can keep up my other blog The Queen of Craigslist where I showcase CL finds from other cities. Without further ado, below are my favorites on DC's CL...

Asian chest $20 (Personally I would paint this piece black or white and spray paint the hardware gold, but you may like as is or have other brilliant ideas to transform it.)...

1960's Console $495 (This is a stunning piece and would be great as a TV console in a Man Cave or as a sideboard in a dining room.)...

Antique Dresser $485 (I would offer way less and paint depending on what space I want it for. I envision it as a petite armoire in a girls bedroom. Maybe the walls are pink and this piece adds a little rustic charm to an otherwise too girly space?)...

Sofa Asian Style $49 (I'm on the fence with this piece, but for the price you maybe be able to get it to work.)...

 

Maybe you could reupholster the above piece to give it a fresh take on life and squeeze it into a cozy nook like the sofa setting below...

Round Bamboo Mirror $30 (Not exactly a starburst mirror, but would look charming in a fun color above a guest room sink.)....

Small Round Black Table $200 (Great piece for a little kitchen or apartment.)...

Pair of Bamboo Chairs $75 (Great unique extra seating.)...

The chairs above would look great in black like the chairs in the dining space below...

Dorothy Draper Dresser in Cream $799 (I've never seen this dresser in cream and silver. I prefer the black/gold original coloring, but this may suite your decor better.)...

Pair of Silver Side Tables $175 (I probably would have chosen black for these because of the leather top, but great tables none the less.)....

Indoor/outdoor rug $134 (This would look great in a kids play room for interest.)...

Etegare $29 (It's for the one on the left, but the seller showcased the others as a paint color option...great idea seller.)...

 

Chinoiserie Chairs $300 (The last 2 need some work, so I would offer about $200. Gorgeous though.)...

The chairs above may not be the hippest chairs around, but add a splash of brick red and blue fabric and you could find them in the beautiful space below...

I'm Back!

Hello everyone! Yes I'm finally back after a very long hiatus. Thanks to all for your concerns and well wishes while I haven't posted...it was much much appreciated. Well the reason for my absence is that I'm pregnant after almost 10 years of trying, doctor visits, treatments, acupuncture, hopes and then thinking that I couldn't get pregnant again. So much to our surprise after many a paint and design project planned I realized I was having another child. I have to admit the first few months were rough and a bit scary for me, but now I'm almost in my 6th month and so happy that I'm having a another boy. So onto new baby projects and a nursery.

Just to start off I thought I would share a few inspirational nursery images that I've collected.

I love the hanging bassinet and dark floors in this serene nursery...

I love the varying shades of blue with the pop of orange on the upholstered chair in this image. I also adore the chandelier by David Trubridge. He's one of my favorite green designers and was featured on Daily Imprint awhile back. I just love his design philosophy...

Quite an eclectic group of images...no!? Well that is so me. I already have the dresser painted and ready to go and guess where I found it? Craigslist! Big surprise right? I'll post the before and after soon. I also plan to share my tips on how to make the nursery an eco-friendly oasis. Hope you all join me on my journey.
