Oh Spring Where Are YOU?

My hysterical friend told me to call this post "F*&% You Spring", but for obvious reasons I decided against it and besides it's not me.

Anyway, yesterday turned out to be another dud, so what do I do when my son has a half day at school, I can't paint due to the rain, a few other projects are stalled due to unforeseen issues and I'm uninspired to cook or clean? I check out a few favorite second hand stores. And here are a few items I saw...

A vintage Asian lamp with beautiful dragon detailing on the base. 

The lamp above reminded me of the lamps in this chic bedroom and at $40 not a bad price for a unique vintage lamp...

I am very drawn to this painting and would love to know its history. Who is that guy in the painting? Did his friend paint it and give it to him as a gift? Were the walls really striped and that vibrant or was that the artists interpretation? It belongs among a sea of other oil paintings blending into the scenery of stories. 

A simple pale blue garden stool. I almost bought it, but it was a tad overpriced for my budget. I'll be back for 1/2 priced Monday because a stool always looks cool...

This is a silk batik print stapled to a large canvas. It was about 4ft. x 4ft and I thought it would be hot in the right room above a sofa or even a bench...

Queen of Craigslist

I am not sure whether I am crazy or not, but I have decided to create another blog. After receiving so much positive feedback on my Fridays Finest Finds, I thought why not create The Queen of Craigslist blog devoted solely to Craigslist. Go here to see my first post. Thanks so much for all of your support and encouragement...it's truly appreciated and makes me so happy to know that you all may find something you like because my severe ADD makes it easy for me to bop around Craigslist with ease.

As part of the award I now will share 7 things you may not know about me:

1. I was born in Turkey in an old somewhat dilapidated hospital.

2. I have a massive birthmark on my back, which gets most Doctors knickers in a twist. But I love it because it looks like a map. As a child I used to pretend it was a real map of a faraway land that someday I may discover...hasn't happened. 

3. I also have a birthmark on my forehead in the shape of the letter V, but it only appears when I am upset...nice huh?

4. I went back to Turkey when I was eight for a visit with former neighbours. And whilst I was there I lost my tooth. An older Turkish lady told me to throw it in the Bosphorus, wait 'till I am 18 and then come back to collect my tooth which will have transformed into a pearl. Haven't been back yet.

5.  I tend to cry when children are sad. I had to avoid a kid at my son's school for a long time because he would cry every morning before school, which would always make me tear up. 

6. I love cloudy warm days. The sun can give me a headache.

7. I suffer from migraines occasionally. Do any of you suffer from them? If so, how do you handle it? I really would love your input.
