In Lieu of Fridays Finest

After finally arriving back from Florida yesterday afternoon, I had no time to do much but laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning, preparing dinner and getting my son ready for school. Therefore I was unable to do my Fridays Finest, but check back next week as I will be highlighting Philly's Craigslist.

So in lieu of the usual, I wanted to share a giveaway on my friends blog and an article about Fresh Quince from a local DC website and blog geared to mothers.

What to Wear Wednesday: Florida Edition

So, I am stuck in South Florida. What started as a quick weekend getaway, has turned into almost an entire week. I'm missing out on all of the ice, sleet and freezing temperatures in DC! I know, I know, you all feel so bad for me...right? I'm stuck here without a cloud in the sky, warm calming breezes, the surf, sand, friends and my two favorite boys...depressing ;)!

Being here I feel the need to channel Lily Pulitzer, so here is my 'used' outfit of the week...

A Favorite Find: Julia in Portland, Oregon

Here is Julia's Dresser that she bought for $150 in an antique store in Portland...

It was already painted in two tones of greige...isn't that awesome when you find something you love and you don't have to do anything to spruce it up! She also purchased the mirror at a thrift store around the corner from her home. This just goes to show that you don't have to buy new to get incredible furniture!

Since Julia has recently moved to Portland, she hasn't styled her bedroom yet. So here's an inspirational image of a bedroom for her fabulous dresser....

Fridays Finest Finds in Portland

My favorite CL finds in Portland Oregon (enjoy Julia, maybe you'll find something you like)...

Vintage Bamboo Bookcase $250 (this is a fantastic piece, how perfect would your tv, books and treasured items fit on this!)

Uhh $200 (nasty from nastyville...so sorry seller, but this is just so, shall i say...fugly)

Zebra Chair $100 (if you need an extra chair and want a little splash of zebra, fabric that is, then this is perfect for you)

Mid Century Sofa $250 (totally hip midcentury sofa. for some reason i am always drawn to green sofas)

Below are some gorgeous interiors with green sofas (i filed these images under green sofas, so if anyone knows the designers please let me know and i will give credit where credit is due!!!!)...

Bamboo Table $30 (nice little side table at a nice little price)

2 Designer Teak Chairs $1850/pair (ok, once again i am not sure about the price and if you are interested please do your research...i just thought they were so cool along with the petite saarinen side table and pretty turquoise lamp)

Barcelona Chairs $120/pair (knock off pleather barcelona chairs, at this price they are fabulous. perfect for a bachelor who hosts rockin' parties..no need to worry over spilled wine)

Rare Henredon Coffee Table $500 (this is a beaut for sure and would look fabulous in a large living room for a hip vintage worldly feel)

OMG 6 Piece Campaign Set $300 (ok these would be mine with out a doubt, i mean holy crap wow...julia buy them and bring all to dc when you come in the summer and i'll pay you ;)

Antique Drop Leaf Table and 4 Chairs $150 (this is selling for a wonderful cause in support of the sellers friend who had a kidney transplant, i would pay the full amount...you get great bentwood chairs, a usable table and help someone out who is in need...great deal if you ask me)

Gather a few more ;) chairs and you could have this lovely dining room...

Comfortable and versatile jeans, a dreamy spring inspired shirt, fabulous purse, dazzling earrings and enchanting Cinderella shoes...how could you go wrong??? I would roll up the jeans and since the shoes already make a statement, why not add some crazy socks to increase the wattage!?! Or just save the shoes for summer and pair them with a white goddess dress like Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City...

King Size Cane Headboard $300 (i have been in love with this bed from ballard designs for ever and if i lived in Memphis, boy would i be tempted to buy it. although black wouldn't suit my bedroom, so i would have to paint...maybe teal)

2 Black with Gold Lining Lampshades $20 (new lampshades are super pricey and old lampshades are usually not in the best condition, so if i were in Memphis i would mos def pick these up)

Custom Pink Sofa and Chaise $250 (thank goodness i don't live in Memphis, because these would be bought in a blink of an eye. i love this sofa and in a warm white room with lots of gold accents it would be cool)

Amy Howard Designer Chairs $950 (i know pricey, but wow these are fabulous and all ready for the perfect dining room)

Venetian Mirror $1250 (i am really not sure if the price is appropriate, but do your research if you want it. also you have to see what the lady who is selling it wrote...it was her grandmothers mirror. why oh why would she sell it???? if that was my grandmothers and handed down to me, i would never in a million years sell it. it really made me so sad when i read that)

If you can't convince the seller to keep the mirror above and you are in love with it like I am then here is a lovely inspirational image...
